The replica chair from the Oseberg boat burial has been finished, with rope seating by Kath and Neil on Mike’s woodwork. The original had widely spaced holes, but the (10mm) hemp rope was surprisingly comfortable. The original chair was also quite low but initial testing suggests that it forms a comfortable seat. It has now joined the Oseberg bed and the stool and low table, which were also based on finds from Scandinavia (Sweden), in our Viking bedroom.
