Recreating the past in the Avalon Marshes
Friday 4th October 2.30-3.30
Rural Life Museum, Glastonbury
Join archaeologist, Dr Richard Brunning, for a talk about the experimental archaeology that is bringing to life the history of the Avalon Marshes.
For the last ten years, Richard has led a volunteer group in a series of hands-on heritage projects. These include recreating prehistoric log boats, wooden trackways, a Roman villa and a Saxon long house. This talk will detail the buildings’ creation, examine the questions brought to light, and unearth the unique insights gained into our ancient past.
Followed by a cup of tea.
