The BBC Countryfile team were in Somerset the other week and filmed at the site as part of a feature on King Alfred the Great and his struggles with the Vikings in 878 AD. Fortunately we had a mural in the longhall showing just that in the longhall (now available for weddings/handfastings at reasonable rates). In the close up pic with the mural in the background you can just see King Alfred at Aller with King Guthrum submitting to baptism. The Alfred bit starts about 10 minutes into the programme.
