Of beasts and wool

In the longhall weaving has begun on the large loom. Caz and Alastair created a selvage strip with weaving tablets, using blue and cream coloured wool to begin a c.50cm wide striped fabric. Kath continued work on the epic carving based on designs from the prow of the Oseberg boat from Norway. Try and count the creatures on the carving. As ever, work was fuelled by Martin’s cake, this week an excellent coffee and walnut, with a moist crumb that melted on the mouth and just enough sugar to excite the tastebuds but leave room for the other flavours to punch through.
