The longhall at Avalon Archaeology plays host to a unique theatrical experience on Saturday 4th of May, with a play written and performed by the super talented physical theatre performer and historian Leela Bunce. This warm-hearted, funny solo show centres on a day in the life of an everyday 9th century Somerset woman, a day that turns out to be unexpectedly and spectacularly anything but “everyday”. From milking the stubborn cow to seeing off Viking invaders to preparing for a great feast, the Saxon hall and the community who knew it are brought to life with this innovative, interactive performance. Performed in a blend of spoken and sung modern and Old English, it is a delight for adult audiences and young people. Bookings for the 3 shows at 11, 1.30pm and 4pm are on sale now but be quick as only 25 are available in each performance.
