We have been adding to our collection of Viking house and home replicas with an interesting roped box made by Kath. The rope acts as both a handle or carrying strap and also a way of securing the lid without the need for a hinge. You can also use it to hang the box up, out of the way. Simple and practical design from the early medieval period.
