Avalon Marshes Centre re-opening

On Sunday 21st of May, the Avalon Marshes Centre was re-opened after Natural England’s latest upgrade of the cafe, toilets and parking areas. Phil Holms, a former NE manager of the site but now with the Hawk and Owl Trust, cut the ribbon during a well attended open day that also set a new record for the number of people visiting the Avalon Archaeology site. Also present at the ceremony were Phil’s successor Simon Clarke (now with Somerset Wildlife Trust) and the current manager Julie Merrett.
