Hurrah! After putting on about 15,000 hand split oak shakes the roof of the Saxon hall has been completed. A traditional Saxon celebration of roast pork, mead, carrot cake and doughnuts (shurely some mistake?- Ed) rewarded the heroic efforts of the Hands on Heritage volunteers. Marc and Steve have guaranteed that their efficient checks will mean that there will be absolutely no leaks! A brief shower proved them right … so far.
