Carvings, gallows and stone

More carvings are underway for the Saxon longhall, based on manuscript images. To inspire quick work, a gallows has been erected against the Roman building to punish laggards. It will also be used as a shelter for the slaves stoking the hypocaust. Some blue lias and yellow Hadspen stone has been kindly donated by Hadspen quarry for the mosaic. Now we just have to cut it into tiny cubes.
