2023 began with a flurry of activity on site with the removal of the older hazel wattlework from the roundhouse porch and the lifting of the dias flooring in the longhall to allow a new supporting beam and ventilation to be inserted underneath. On the constructuve side of things work on the Roman tabletop and legs progressed well and the first pattern of interlocking squares in the mosaic were completed. Hazel posts were also split for later use as part of a cunning plan for the main gate.
