Spurred on by a chocolate and orange cake of record breaking proportions (thank you Martin and Happy Birthday!) and some sunny weather, progress has been good.
Operation fakery continues on the Roman building. The fake stone blocks that were outlined in the final coat of render are now being picked out in red ochre. Who would guess that its just cob underneath.
On the Saxon longhall the wattle and daubed walls are having coats of limewash applied. Eventually the outsides will be coloured with yellow ochre. Safety barriers have been erected on the mezzanine storage level – just a floor is needed now!
