Not a (lime) washout

Despite a day of heavy rain, work on both buildings continued heroically in the face of frequent assaults by cake, biscuits and millionaire’s shortbread. The interior of the finished wattle and daub panels in the Saxon hall were limewashed, bringing unexpected light unto the huddled masses within. In the Roman building the cob wall endured a terrific assualt in preparation for its first coat of render. All that and not a leek in sight, hurrah!
