The bedroom in the longhall is looking good with its new red ochre stripes and plans are afoot for a few items of Viking furniture to go in the room. This is mainly because we have evidence of such things from Scandinavia but very, very little from England. The Viking theme will also complement the Oseberg ship burial inspired bed. Speaking of ships, the replica Viking trading vessel was given a fresh lick of linseed oil and its looking back to its sparkling best. Meanwhile in the Roman building, work on the guilloche border goes on and part of the patterns inside it have been completed on one side. The varied stacks of wood around the site are being cleared ready for the landscaping work to begin.
