Work continues on our two long term projects, the Roman mosaic floor and the Saxon mural. The guilloche border has snaked itself around more than half the room and part of the pattern of interlocking squares has been drawn out – based on the Hurcot villa mosaic. Four of the eight panels in the mural are finished and three others are progressing well, all thanks to the six volunteers of the Saxon Art Club. Meanwhile the wider site has been cleared, ready for the landscaping work to begin. Great work by all the volunteers, as ever.
